An Experimental Study on the Effect of High Lipid Diet upon the Spleen

Abstract
|
|
|
Forty healthy albino rabbits weighing around 1.8kg were used for the experiment a,, d divided into groups:
1. Control group fed basic diet.
2. Lipid administered group fed basic diet with cholesterol 500g/kg, corn oil 1. 5/kg a-d bile salt 50g/kg per day.
The result obtained from this experiment were as follows:
I: In the. lipid administed group, the spleen revealed marked fatty changes.
2. Serum lipid levels (cholesterol, triglyceride, phospholipid), very low density lipoprotein and low density lipoprotein were increased and high´density lipoprotein decreased significantly as compared with those of control groups.
